Hello! Welcome to Kenna Design.
I am a spirited Michigan girl who has meandered through various art mediums my entire life. My earliest attempts were the cutest mouse stick drawings on my kindergarten writing assignments. Those adventurous mice would often be drawn jumping off A’s, scaling B’s, and swinging on C’s. I loved making pencil drawings of many Michigan native birds and painting them with vibrant acrylic paints as I viewed them from my backyard. My favorite subject was the mischievous masked red cardinal given the name “Jack”.
Life’s unexpected detours bring about great opportunities . During a health challenge, I found a place of peace and healing in designing jewelry pieces. Longing to perfect my skill, I enrolled into The New York Institute of Art and Design. My instructors were very encouraging and impressed with my work, especially the intricacy of my uniform hand-made chain links. Their confidence gave me the courage to pursue sharing my designs with you. Thus, Kenna Design was conceived.
Currently, I happily live on my ever-expanding hobby farm in northern Michigan. You’ll often find me doting over my beloved Isa Brown and Rhode Island Red laying hens, and of course, they are all properly named. I am especially fond of my swift Missouri Fox Trotter horse, Freckles, who loves a good massage and apples. The newest addition, Jasmine, the calico kitten, is trying out her new hunting skills on hay bale twine while getting into plenty of mischief darting around the barn.
